It is with great sadness that I have to announce I've decided to close Itty Bitty Birdie Bites. It was 8 years ago this summer that I started developing the foods that would later become Itty Bitty Birdie Bites and sending them to friends, and 7 years ago that we became "official". We continue to thrive, but my own health issues have made continuing my beloved endeavor an impossibility.

I have tried, and have given it my best shot with the help of family and friends. I've been able to maintain through most of my health problems, but the "cerebrovascular event" of last fall has taken away too much. I have lost my organizational abilities, and am no longer able to multi-task. Many of the things I do have become either extremely difficult, or impossible. Added to the increasing loss of vision that has contributed to personal injuries and quite a few expensive mishaps in the shop, and the worsening of the arthritis in my spine, the physical demands - even in my custom kitchen - have dictated my decision.

I will continue to work through the month of May, to produce and fill orders. The extremely popular Simple Sprouts line will continue uninterrupted into the forseeable future, as one of my shopkeepers is taking on that line; they will continue to be shipped directly from my dedicated shop - nothing will change except the ownership. (Please see the list below of vendors and shops that will continue to fill orders this month.)

I am not selling the business. I AM Itty Bitty Birdie Bites, egotistical as that might sound, and it was built and maintained out of love. I can't put a price on love. I have considered the sale of my recipes and methods but haven't made a firm decision about that yet.

Stepping down from a thriving and popular business is difficult, and I am grieving. This will be a drastic life-altering change for me, and I don't know where the Lord will put me next, but I know He has a plan and that's what is keeping me going right now.

I appreciate SO MUCH the opportunity to serve all of you. Thank you for your continued support and business over the years, and for your support in this difficult time now :).
